  • Be sure to obtain your visa by April 3, 2026.
  • Be sure your guest obtains their visa by April 3, 2026.
  • To ensure a seamless travel experience, please double-check all guest information before obtaining their visa. Due to ticketing requirements, guest name changes or substitutions are not permitted.

Travel Tips to Know Before You Go

IMPORTANT: We recommend that you re-confirm your flights directly with your airline 24 hours prior to departure in order to obtain your terminal and gate information.

Should your travel plans change on travel day, please contact the Vistra Hospitality Staff: VistraCOE@planningmode-events.com.

  • To ensure proper transfer of luggage from your home city to Puerto Vallarta, please include your name, address and phone number on your luggage tags and check your luggage through to Puerto Vallarta International Airport (PVR).
  • With heightened security at all airports, we recommend that you arrive at the airport a minimum of two hours prior to your flight departure time. We also recommend that you pack any essential items and a change of clothing in your carry-on luggage, in case your luggage is lost.
  • Lighters are not permitted in checked baggage if they are filled with fuel; however, common lighters are permitted in carry-on luggage. Matches are not permitted in checked baggage. You may have one book of safety matches in your carry-on luggage.
  • Pack all medication and valuables in your carry-on luggage. Please keep all medications, prescription or over-the-counter, in original, labeled containers.
  • Airports may require you to remove shoes and place them through the X-ray machine. “Slip on” shoes allow for easier and faster access through the security checkpoint.
  • Avoid wearing clothing, jewelry or accessories that contain metal. These items may set off the metal detectors. You will also be required to remove all outer coats, jackets and blazers.
  • You will be required to remove all laptops and tablets from carry-on luggage to go through the X-ray machine individually.
  • If you have TSA PreCheck® clearance in the U.S., you will not be required to remove your shoes, jackets or blazers during security screening. Additionally, you will not be required to remove laptops, tablets, or liquids in a (1) one-quart bag from your carry-on luggage.
  • Make a copy of your passport to carry with you. Should you accidentally lose the original document, the copy will make it much easier to have your passport replaced for re-entry into your home country. It is also a good idea to leave a copy of your passport at home.

How to Find Your Transportation to the Hotel

  • After departing the plane, proceed to Immigration with your passport and Mexican Customs Declaration form ready. You will receive a simple stamp in your passport; paper tourist cards are no longer required.

  • Once you clear Immigration, pass through the thermal temperature screening zone and continue to the baggage claim area to collect your luggage.
  • Once luggage is collected, hand your declaration form to the Customs official and press the button on the "stop light" system. A green light allows you to proceed immediately, while a red light indicates a standard baggage inspection.
  • After customs, walk through the sliding glass doors toward the exit. Important: Ignore individuals inside the building offering transportation help; these are timeshare representatives. Do not stop until you are completely outside.
  • Once outside the terminal, stay to your left. To locate transportation representatives, look for individuals in khaki pants and yellow shirts holding Vistra COE logo signs. They will escort you to your waiting transportation.
  • Guests will be driven straight to UNICO Riviera Nayarit Resort. Transfer time is 20 - 30 minutes, depending on traffic.
